Habit à la Française
This was my first costume in my final year at Wimbledon College of Arts. I choose to make this habit à la Française, which is based on an original garment that was worn by Otto van Randwijck in 1790. It is a part of the Gemeente Museum Den Haag museum collection. A large image of the front is based on the NRC website which helped a lot with detigising the embroidery.
The base layer is digital embroidry, with a design I digitised in Wilcom EmbroideryStudio and embroidered myself, with French Knots added on top by hand to give it more depth.
More photos or the making of the costumes can be found on my Instagram account.
